TypeStride helps you practise English keyboard skills and reflect on computer-based writing. Please read this notice together with the Privacy policy and Help & data safety.
1. Educational scope
Practice, Check, Learn, Custom Text, Write, Challenges and Flow serve different purposes. Timings, accuracy, recommendations and game scores are descriptive training feedback, not diagnoses, proof of learning, examination results or a prediction of an IELTS band. Target Band is your selected goal. The original writing passages and visual tasks are TypeStride-authored practice materials, not official IELTS questions or examiner-rated answers. Word lists and included libraries may have separate source and licence notices; their underlying rights remain with their respective holders. TypeStride is not presented as an official IELTS service.
2. Accounts and permitted access
Guest practice is available without an account. Account registration may be limited during the pre-release. Use an address you control and keep your password and verification/recovery links private. Do not impersonate another person, try to access another user's records, share private classroom links beyond the intended group, or bypass rate limits and eligibility controls. An administrator may restrict access to protect the service and its users.
3. Your writing and submitted material
You retain any rights you have in your own writing. Only enter, paste or share material that you have permission to use. Avoid confidential information, third-party personal information, passwords and copyrighted material you are not authorised to submit. Processing permission is limited to providing the functions you choose, including saving results and handling a support request. Submission is not a general licence to publish your writing.
4. Rankings and classroom links
Ranking display is optional and controlled separately for Challenges and Flow. An alias can be visible with eligible results when you choose to be listed. Turning listing off removes the relevant live listing; copies already made by viewers cannot be recalled. An unlisted Classroom link is not a verified class roster: another eligible account that receives the link may join. Browser-side reporting and server validation do not prove identity or the absence of external assistance. Do not treat these rankings as proctored examinations.
5. Saving, updates and interruptions
Different modes have different storage limits. Learn progress, Write/Custom Text and onboarding currently remain in the browser even when you are signed in. Clearing browser data, using a different browser, storage limits or device failure may remove local data. Export important work and understand which export formats can be restored. Not every export has a general import function.
The update notice never reloads the page automatically. Finish or save your work and resolve pending submissions before using it. No Service Worker or complete offline-start capability is installed by this version. Browser or operating-system termination cannot be prevented or fully recovered from by the update feature.
6. Support and acceptable use
The contact and bug-report forms are for service questions and reproducible technical problems. Do not submit harassment, spam, unlawful content, private access links, credentials or other people's personal information. No attachment uploads are accepted. A receipt confirms server storage, not a human response, delivery of an email or resolution. Replies, when possible, are handled manually using the contact information you provide; no response-time guarantee is made. This is not an emergency contact channel.
7. Changes, availability and rights
The pre-release may change or be unavailable during maintenance. Features and educational content are supplied for practice; uninterrupted availability and a particular improvement are not promised. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Material changes should be explained with a new notice version. A software update alone does not constitute recorded acceptance of revised legal terms.
8. Questions and closure
Use Contact for questions about these terms, data requests or closing an account. We may need proportionate identity confirmation before acting on an account request. Do not send your password. Account, local-browser and support data follow separate deletion paths described in the privacy notice.
9. Account registration confirmations
When you finish creating a new email-verified account, you agree to these terms and separately acknowledge the Privacy policy and the storage explanation. We keep the notice versions, content hashes and server-recorded time with your internal account ID. These confirmations do not enrol you in research, marketing or public rankings. Accounts created before this feature are not retrospectively marked as having accepted this version.
