TypeStride checks for a published release at safe idle points. It never reloads an active session automatically.

0.9.8 α1 — Reasoning nudges
Optional questions now help you understand the prompt, find distinct reasons, explain a causal route and check your draft. Eight reasoning lenses offer 4, 2 or no prompts; Task 1 uses evidence-based comparison prompts instead. Existing sentence starters remain. No answer text is analysed or inserted, and Strict Simulation stays unassisted.
0.9.6 α1 — Writing nudges & consistent typing cues
Optional sentence starters help you begin Task 1 and Task 2 paragraphs in Writing Practice. They start Off, never insert text, stay local and are disabled in Strict Simulation. Practice, Check, Games and Challenges now share the same visual cues for typed, current, upcoming and incorrect characters; each mode retains its own scoring and correction rules.
0.9.5 α1 — Registration notices & confirmations
New accounts review separate Terms and Privacy/storage confirmations. Their account creation and a versioned receipt are saved together. Earlier accounts are not marked as having agreed retrospectively. Learn and Write remain browser-local; rankings remain separate choices.
0.9.4 α1 — Updates, policies & support
An optional update notice, quiet service links, draft Terms/Privacy pages, contact and bug-report forms, and a private administrator support inbox. Forms remain disabled until operator details and policy text are reviewed.
Before updating
Finish or save your current lesson or writing, close the session, and resolve pending results and keep an export if needed. The app's update button waits when it detects an active session, pending sync, storage warnings or edited form text. It reloads only the current tab after your confirmation and keeps its route. Other tabs stay open on their current version.
The feature does not delete browser data, change accounts or install a Service Worker. It cannot prevent a manual browser refresh, operating-system shutdown or every storage failure. Newly introduced update detection becomes available only after this version is loaded once; an older tab without this feature cannot display its first notice.
When the connection is unavailable
Update checks stay quiet in the background. A manual check reports an unavailable connection or a deployment in progress and leaves your work alone. “Later” hides that version's banner for this tab; you can check again from the menu.
